Studio Progress

The garage to pottery studio conversion is underway and I have been very busy these last couple of weeks. Lots of cleaning has been happening, to the point where I made myself a bit sick from all the dust. I really should have worn a mask for that, but hindsight is 20/20, right?

Since the space will remain part wood shop, and part storage, making enough room to work has been a challenge. A lumber rack has been built and mounted to free up floor space and a new light has been installed so I can actually see what I’m doing. There’s still plenty of crap to get rid of, and bulk trash pickup can’t come soon enough.

Unfortunately, the weather here in Austin has taken a turn into unbearable heat, so work has slowed down a bit. Next on the agenda is the installation of a mini-split so I can actually be out there for more than 15 minutes at a time. Optimism is high, and new work will coming soon. Updates to come.
